Renault Sport will organise a round of the Clio Cup during the 2020 Formula 1 Grand Prix de France (June 26-28, 2020).
On the occasion of this event next June, Renault Sport will allow all drivers who have taken part in a round of a national or regional Clio Cup championship in 2020 to race at the Circuit Paul Ricard. This round will be composed of a free practice session, a qualifying session and two races.
Drivers from France, Italy, Spain, England, Asia or even the Middle East will have the opportunity to showcase their skills in parallel with the prestigious FIA Formula 1 World Championship, under the watchful eyes of the elite of world motorsport.
This exceptional round of Clio Cup allows Renault, already a partner of the French Formula 1 Grand Prix since its return to the calendar in 2018, to renew its support to one of the biggest French sporting events of the year.
Eric Boullier, Managing Director of the GIP Grand Prix de France – Le Castellet: “The Renault Group has been a major partner of the French Formula 1 Grand Prix since its return in 2018. We share the same vision of the competition, and we look forward to seeing all these drivers compete in intense battles. We are sure that spectators will enjoy this fabulous spectacle on the Circuit Paul Ricard. “
Benoit Nogier, Commercial Director of Renault Sport Racing: “After the real plebiscite we experienced in 2019, when nearly fifty competitors competed on the track, it was logical for Renault to renew the operation in 2020. This Clio Cup Open is an opportunity to recall Renault’s versatility in motorsport by bringing together Clio Cup and Formula 1 in a single event.”
